Kaiden was put on nebulizer treatments in two hour increments rather than the initial four hours, continued administration of steroids, and still has that darn oxygen tube in his cute little nose. Around dinner he was able to eat some applesauce as well as a few bites of chicken but had exhausted himself in doing so and was miserable until his next neb treatment. He's gaining more time after treatments where he's more calm, his heart rate is lower, and sparks of my little man shine through. He let out a few giggles as he bonked me over the head with a straw a few hundred times. But of course those giggle made him really tired and he was struggling for that next treatment.
He hasn't slept for more than 40 minutes at a time all day, but tonight we've seen him sleep for over an hour before waking up due to shortness of breath. After our next treatment we're hoping to bump the treatments back down to every four hours. Right now, I'm seeing a dramatic improvement in comparison to this morning. Still a long ways to go, but we're on the road to recovery. Hopefully no spirals!
