Kaiden was brought off the oxygen drip mid morning and put on forced room air. At about 10:30 he was finally able to remove the those dumb oxygen tubes from his nose and took a few rides around the hospital hallways in a wagon with the nurses (flirt). He's finally eating and in an hour he'll have his final albuterol and first pulmicort treatment before they SEND US HOME :)
He'll be on pulmicort everyday for a month. H's done rather well with the nebulizer treatments (not fighting them) so I"m not too concerned with having to administer them at home. He'll also be on steroids for 3 days to help him get passed this little rut. He's got another checkup in three days to discuss our options down the road so we dont' ever have to face this again. We're hoping he grows out of the asthma, but for now looks like he and his mama will be sharing albuterol puffers. :(
Thanks for all the warm thoughts, prayers, and support! What a horrendous scare this all was! Aside from the sticky mess on his face that taping the oxygen tubes caused he's pretty content:)
